MEDIEVAL BANQUET MENUS
There is much to study and learn about the type of menu that was prepared for a medieval banquet. It is generally understood that great care and time was devoted to the preparation of medieval banquet menus as they were not only usually served to the rich and important people in that area but they were often a 'showpiece' for the Lord of the manor, out to impress his guests.
From swans to peacocks, venison to wild boar, salmon to pike .... the medieval meats and fish dishes were usually served with a lavish presentation.
